School Term Dates and Keeping Up to Date

At West Park, we know how important it is for families to have clear and timely information about school dates, events and celebrations. This page brings together the key dates and explains the best ways to keep up to date with everything happening in school.

Children are at the heart of school life, and we love sharing their achievements, experiences and successes with our families and wider school community.

 Keeping Up to Date with School Life

There is always something to celebrate at West Park. Throughout the week, children take part in a wide range of learning experiences, events, activities and opportunities, and we enjoy sharing these moments with our families.

We use Facebook to celebrate:

  • pupil achievements and successes;
  • classroom learning and special activities;
  • school trips, performances and sporting events;
  • weekly celebrations; and
  • important whole-school news and reminders.

Following our Facebook pages is one of the easiest ways to keep up to date with what is happening across school.

 Our Facebook Pages

Facebook page What you will find
Private class groups Weekly celebrations, photographs and updates from your child’s class, helping families to see some of the wonderful learning and experiences taking place each week.
Whole-school Facebook page School-wide events, achievements, celebrations, important updates and reminders for the wider West Park community.

Please use the right communication route
Facebook is used to celebrate and share school life. Questions or concerns about an individual child or situation should always be sent privately through Arbor or discussed directly with your child’s class teacher.

 Weekly Newsletter

Our weekly school newsletter will be shared through Arbor and Facebook every Friday afternoon. It will include:

  • highlights and celebrations from the week;
  • important messages and reminders;
  • upcoming dates and events;
  • parent safeguarding updates and information
  • information on local events in the community; and
  • news from across the school.

 Using Arbor

Arbor is our main communication platform for important school information. Through the Arbor Parent App, families can:

  • receive school messages and notifications;
  • email staff;
  • access important dates and reminders via the calendar;
  • provide consent for trips and activities;
  • make payments;
  • book places for events and clubs; and
  • contact school to arrange an appointment.

Keep your details up to date
Please make sure that you have downloaded the Arbor Parent App and that your contact details and notification settings remain up to date. This helps us make sure that important messages reach you promptly.

Questions About Dates or Events

Details of parent meetings, performances, school trips, workshops and other events will be shared through Arbor. Where booking or parental consent is required, this will also be completed through the app.

If you need further information about a date, event or Arbor notification, please contact the school office. We will always be happy to help.
