At West Park, children are at the heart of every decision we make. We want every family to feel confident that they can speak openly with us, ask questions and share any concerns. Your views are important, and strong communication between home and school helps us provide the best possible support for every child.

We will always listen carefully and work in partnership with you. Although there may sometimes be different viewpoints or difficult conversations, our shared priority will always be making the right decisions for the children of West Park.

The best place to start
For questions about your child’s learning, progress, friendships, behaviour or day-to-day experience in school, please speak to your child’s class teacher first. They work closely with your child each day, know them best and will usually be the person most able to answer your question or resolve a concern quickly.

 How to contact us

Arbor is our main point of contact for arranging an appointment, either in person or by telephone. You can contact us through the Arbor in-app messaging system or by emailing the school office. Once received, your message will be directed to the most appropriate member of staff.

If you need a same-day message to be passed to your child’s class teacher, please speak to one of the adults on the school gate or at the Key Stage entrance doors, visit the school office or telephone us. During the school day, class teachers’ priority is the children and their learning, so emails and Arbor messages are generally not read until after the children have left at the end of the school day. Please do not rely on email or Arbor for a message that needs to be acted on that day.

We aim to respond within 48 hours during the school week. This response time does not apply to safeguarding concerns, which should always be shared immediately by telephoning the school office or speaking directly to a member of the safeguarding team.
